It would probably suck. Also RE is more combat oriented than SH, in SH you avoid monster way more than in RE so it would be boring and nausea inducing, also imagine the filthy bloody walls from Silent Hill 3, something like that in VR, it would be a vomit festival. The developers tried to make it really scary.
In short, if you like old school Resident Evil prior to part 4 (or Silent Hill, for that matter) you'll like this. If you like action disguised as horror, you won't. It's better then re7 in every way except for spooks. And spooks are only there for one playthrough. Resident evil 8 I want to replay again after playing it. Did not feel the same for 7. Because the big appeal was in the spooks. While resident evil 8 has much better foundation and tons of reason to replay.
